Team-Day: looking to the future of technical ceramics

The date is 6th June, the venue Riedhammer’s head offices in Nuremberg. The event: a fascinating symposium to present Team (Technology and Experience for Advanced Materials), the brand founded on an alliance between Sacmi Imola, Sama, Laeis and Riedhammer, Alpha Ceramics and Gaiotto specifically dedicated to the world of advanced ceramics.

These four Sacmi Group companies, leaders in their respective businesses, share a strong commitment to research and development in the production of machines and complete plants for the ceramic industry. By creating Team Brand, the Group has brought about the perfect conditions for identification of spot-on solutions in the advanced ceramics field, especially functional ceramics, structural ceramics, refractories and electro-ceramics.

From an initial presentation by Peter Riedhammer to a report on the role of Team within the Sacmi Group by Wolfgang Dörr, numerous talks will be given at the symposium, to be chaired by professor Walter Krenkel of the University of Bayreuth. A detailed analysis of the prospects and opportunities of technical ceramic will be offered by Dr. Michael Zins, vice director of the Fraunhofer Institute Ceramic Systems and Technologies (IKTS) in Dresden. Other talks worth highlighting include technical reports on firing and the raw materials needed to obtain products resistant to high temperatures, plus an analysis of the zinc oxide ceramics used in the electronics industry. Finally, the conclusions drawn from Team-Day will be illustrated by Alfred Kaiser of Laeis.

The 6th June Team-Day, then, will provide participants with an excellent opportunity to get a close look at the solutions offered by the four partner companies; through Team, they provide “turnkey” plants for the production of highly advanced ceramic components, blending outstanding machine productivity with superb finished product quality, thus providing customers with an undeniable competitive advantage.
