Team by Sacmi heads for Ceramic Expo 2015, Cleveland USA

Innovations in glass and special ceramic technology/plant engineering to be showcased

Laeis is the world’s leading designer of presses (with pressing forces of up to 6,500 tons) for the ceramic industry, especially as regards refractories and advanced ceramics. Riedhammer, instead, is a global player in the production of industrial shuttle, tunnel and rotary kilns for ceramic sanitaryware, advanced ceramics and technical ceramics. Both will be playing a starring role at Ceramic Expo in Cleveland as part of Team by Sacmi, the Division that, since 2007, has brought together all the Group’s best machine/process industrial design and development skills for the technical ceramic industry.

To be held from 28 to 30 April 2015 in what is Ohio’s biggest metropolitan and industrial area, Ceramic Expo is one of the world’s biggest international exhibitions dedicated to plant engineering and technological innovation for the ceramic industry, especially as regards the advanced ceramics employed by numerous industries, from automotive to aerospace, from biomedical to precision electronics. These, in fact, are the ‘bread and butter’ industries for Laeis and Riedhammer, which will be attending this US fair (stand n° 140) to illustrate the latest solutions they’ve developed for the industry, such as the experimental yet highly successful glass fibre recovery and reutilisation project that won Team by Sacmi publication in the prestigious international magazine Glass Worldwide.

Promoted by the American Ceramic Society, the Cleveland fair will be attended by over 2000 international companies, technicians and operators, all specialised in the ceramic industry, all working in the American market where demand is growing – in the advanced ceramic sector alone – by 6% a year. Furthermore, market experts see more specific development prospects ahead in the environment and energy sectors. Indeed, Cleveland is looking to become, by 2020, nothing less than the fulcrum of the American ceramic industry, the hub of a market where further growth is estimated to be a huge 40 percent.
