The Lasselsberger Group focuses on large size tiles

Heightened productivity and efficiency from Sacmi’s PH 5000L press and twin-channel FBN kiln

The goal: to raise output of big formats up to 2,2 million  square metres, in total up to 10.5 million square metres in one plant. The means: the all-new Sacmi-designed-and-built PH 5000L press, just perfect for the production of large tiles. Through this investment choice, in the Chlumcany plant, near Pilsen, the Austrian Lasselberger Group has chosen to focus on growth in the key strategic market of the Czech Republic and Europe.

The press, the beating heart of the new large tile line inaugurated last 13th February, is equipped with Sacmi M&D moulds for 450x450 and 600x600 tiles. Completing the line is a Sacmi twin-channel FBN 223/84 kiln, equipped with cutting-edge technology such as the XTR heat recovery system. Intended for the production of 60x60 floor tiles marketed under the Rako brand name, the plant stands out, as stated by the Lasselberger Group CEO and Lasselsberger Czech CEO himself, on account of its excellent, guaranteed productivity, the increased efficiency of the new machines and the enviable energy performance of the Sacmi-conceived firing process.

This latest project has strengthened the industrial partnership in ceramic production between Lasselsberger Group and Sacmi even further; it is a partnership that has yielded many years of mutual reward thanks to excellent market feedback. Now, thanks to this new line, the most modern in the Lasselberger Group, new impetus has been given to a tradition that has, at Chlumcany, proceeded uninterrupted for 140 years.
