The Tubadzin Group (Poland) invests in energy savings

Kiln-recovered fumes sent to spray driers and slip-type dust abatement device installed

These key investments, decided by the Tubadzin Group in 2006, are now yielding considerable rewards. While there are three different projects, they all have a common thread: teamwork with SACMI and the outstanding technical skills demonstrated by ceramic plant management.
At the Tubadzin II plant in Ozorkow a firing fumes recovery system has successfully been started up. Fumes from the three kilns are passed through filters featuring sleeves resistant to high temperatures and then conveyed to the two spray driers, specially adapted to work with air having a low oxygen content. Measurements made before and after implementation of the system show that the spray driers now consume some 30% less gas. That’s quite a result - and one that maximises production efficiency without compromising quality.
A second key investment has been completed at the Tubadzin I plant. The existing spray drier has been provided with a new slip-type abatement device, mod. SACMI ARB. Not only does this device cut dust emissions to below 30 mg/Nm3, it also heats the slip, thus allowing reductions in the amount of gas consumed by the spray drying process (with savings in excess of 5%).
Thirdly, a new production line with a PH2890 press and an EVA793 vertical dryer was recently installed at the Ozorkow plant. This has substantially boosted the flexibility needed to respond to the ever-shorter time-to-market demanded by quality-conscious customers.
Together, the farsighted decision-making of Tubadzin and the support provided by SACMI highlight just how dynamic and rewarding relations between these two companies are.
