This year’s “Endeavour award” goes to technology in sanitaryware

CaromaDorf, Australia, has won the Technology Application Award 2008, thanks to the Sacmi-supplied AVM machine featuring high pressure casting technology

The Australian Department of Education and Work’s decision to grant Caroma one of the country’s most coveted technological awards has provided Caroma - and Sacmi - with enormous satisfaction.
For years Caroma has been using Sacmi-made machines and plants and, in the case in point, this award has been won thanks to their utilisation of the AVM casting machine, which is, especially in stick-on rim WC production, both a clear-cut winner and Sacmi’s biggest international seller.

Caroma chose the AVM with microporous resin moulds because it ensures a more consistently higher-grade product, with less production waste and no manual handling.

This investment in new technology cost the company, based in Wetherhill Park NSW, no small amount: however, the investment has more than paid for itself with this sought-after recognition. Dan Thompson, Project Manager in CaromaDorf, states “Using the AVM casting machine has given us the triple advantage of an efficient production process, the development of more complex products - a must in this business - and the assurance that our staff remain specialised and updated on cutting-edge production techniques”.

A success for Caroma and a source of pride for Sacmi.
