International preview of the world’s fastest compression machine

Sacmi to present new CCM 80 at the ChinaPlas 2009 fair

Despite a market that is in something of a slump, the SACMI Closures&Containers team, the world’s leading makers of complete plastic cap production lines, has boosted R&D efforts to develop ever-more advanced techniques and technologies. Its goal? To provide beverage industry customers with nothing less than comprehensive, cutting-edge solutions.
At Chinaplas 2009, due to be held in Guangzhou [China] from 18th to 21st May, SACMI Closures&Containers, in partnership with Assocomaplast (the association that brings together all the major Italian makers of machines and moulds for plastic and rubber), will be presenting, for the very first time, on an exhibition area measuring 100 m2, the unique all-new CCM80 [continuous compression moulding machine], the result of over 25 years experience in the industry.
The CCM80 is the only machine in the world capable of producing more than 2000 caps per minute with just 80 moulds: with ultra-fast cycle times last just 2.4 seconds, it is also able to utilise different raw materials such as PP, HDPE and LDPE.
From a cap manufacturing viewpoint it is possible to obtain a nominal closure diameter of up to 33 mm, a maximum height of about 25 mm and a maximum weight of about 6 grams.
The latest machine to come off the SACMI production line, the CCM80 enhances the current compression press range without giving up any of the advantages offered by previous versions: top-quality finished products, outstanding reliability, low-cost maintenance, high productivity, low consumption, minimal colour changeover times, compact overall dimensions, repeatability of the production process.
Thanks to its now well-known advantages, compression technology has become the world’s most widely used beverage cap production system, clearly demonstrating that it is a winning weapon in the tough world of plastic cap production.
Recent years have seen the competition tighten: over the same period cap producers have also become more and more oriented towards ‘one-stop’ suppliers of complete turnkey plants. This has driven the companies to develop synergies and solutions with other companies in the Sacmi Group. So while Sacmi Closures&Containers continues to operate independently on international markets, it also works as a “team member” with other Group companies to provide comprehensive solutions to the bottling market.
Vezio Bernardi, Sales Manager of Closures&Containers, will be with his staff on stand C41 hall 4.1 to illustrate the many advantages of the new machine.
