Machine number 1000 delivered to Taiwanese giant THC

Celebration held at the Group’s Imola HQ to mark the delivery of the 1000th press for the production of plastic beverage caps

Imola, 4th November 2010 – A special ceremony marked delivery of the 1000th Sacmi-made CCM, complete with a special ‘1000th CCM’ marking, to the Taiwanese beverage packaging giant, Taiwan Hon Chuan (THC).

This plastic cap-making (Continuous Compression Moulding) machine will be used at one of the production facilities belonging to THC, the leading producer of plastic packaging and bottling for the entire Chinese/South-Eastern Asia area. According to its President, Keith H.C Dai (the ceremony’s guest of honour), THC is expected to achieve total sales in the order of one billion dollars by 2012.

Welcoming the Taiwanese delegation on behalf of SACMI were the President, Mr. Domenico Olivieri, CEO Pietro Cassani and the General Manager of the Closures & Containers Division, Mr. Giuseppe Lesce. To commemorate this landmark achievement Sacmi gave THC one of the ‘historical’ moulds from the first ever CCM: this will be displayed at the Taiwanese company’s corporate museum.

“Delivery of this machine”, stated President Olivieri during the ceremony, “is a huge accomplishment for SACMI in a key sector of the Asian market: we hope that it will soon lead to the delivery of CCM number two thousand”. In expressing his thanks for the warm welcome and 24 years of mutually rewarding teamwork with the Sacmi Group, President Dai underlined “the importance of solid relations with a crucial provider of comprehensive solutions for the beverage industry” and expressed his hope of becoming “the purchaser of Sacmi’s 2000th CCM”.
