Propak East Africa is the biggest event for the manufacturing industry in East Africa. The last edition saw over 2000 visitors flock to Nairobi from all over Africa and the rest of the world to see more than 60 exhibitor companies from over 15 nations. This latest edition will once again be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 17 to 19 March 2015.
Taking centre-stage in the exhibition space set aside for Sacmi (15 square metres hall A3 stand n. 24 inside the Italian stand organised by UCIMA, the Italian Constructors of Automatic Packaging and Wrapping Machines Union) will be a series of solutions for the beverage & closures industry with which the Group has won widespread acclaim on account of process innovations characterised by reliability, productivity, and optimised energy consumption.
At Sacmi, innovative solutions are synonymous with compression technology for the manufacture of plastic caps. It’s on this front, in fact, that Sacmi has, since 2013, been providing the market with the innovative COOL+ enhanced cooling system; this drastically reduces both process times and required energy amounts, with parallel increments in quality. Installable on the entire CCM (continuous compression moulding) range, the COOL+ solution raises productivity by up to 50% and improves the performance of the entire system, with results, in terms of competitiveness, currently beyond the reach of our rivals. This technology is just one component of a Sacmi Beverage range that has, for many years, been providing manufacturers with integrated turnkey plant engineering solutions for the single-step transformation of raw materials into finished products. Similarly, very few competitors in the world are able to operate as leaders across several businesses and with multiple technologies, while even fewer can count on at least 20 years of manufacturing experience in this industry.
The Beverage range also includes the innovative IPS, the injection-technology preform production machine characterised by, among other things, a series of energy recovery and energy saving solutions: these include the preform outfeed station where the kinetic energy of the slide is recovered, during deceleration, and reconverted into electricity.
Other key machines include the labellers made by Sacmi Verona. Their latest “creation”, the Formsleeve+, was first presented last March: offering more versatile design and greater flexibility in the choice and management of materials, this machine is so efficient that it reduces plastic costs by up to 20%.
Last but far from least, Sacmi customers can also count on a sales and after-sales service that stretches across five continents, accompanying the customer every step of the way right from the initial design phase.
