From 17th to 25th May the global plastic industry will be converging in Guangzhou, China. The Number 1 trade fair for the enormous, highly promising Chinese market (with tens of millions of tons of plastic materials consumed each year, a figure that is still growing fast), Chinaplas is also a key international reference point for the entire Asian market, where some emerging economies have shown an ability to grow even in the midst of a deep world economic crisis.
It is against this backdrop, then, that Sacmi will be taking part in Chinaplas. We’ll be displaying some of the technological excellence developed by the Closures & Containers Division. The star of the show will be the CCM 48S, currently the world’s most competitive compression press for the production of single-piece caps. Capable of producing 1,200 caps per minute with just 48 moulds, this Sacmi-made technological gem (to see it just head for stand D41, Hall 4.1) will be equipped for the occasion with a mould suitable for the production of S30-14 single-piece high density polyethylene (HDPE) caps. Sacmi will also be taking advantage of the opportunity to illustrate the general competitive advantages that compression technology gives beverage plastic cap producers, from low consumption to reduced cycle times, from low maintenance costs to extraordinary flexibility.
In addition to Closures, sales teams from Sacmi Automation & Inspection Systems, Sacmi Shanghai - the local point of reference, especially for spare parts and after-sales assistance - will also be attending Chinaplas, as will Negri Bossi, a long-standing Sacmi Group firm that specialises in the design and construction of presses for thermoplastic injection moulding. The Automation & Inspection Systems Division will be at the fair with the innovative PVS2 vision system for in-line pre-form quality control (which gives real time quality control of the production process and can be applied on any type of press); Negri Bossi, instead, will be exhibiting the very best from its range, such as integrated moulding and post-processing solutions, by presenting the innovative Janus “Smart Energy” line, which ensures exceptional performance and features electrical mould clamping and material batching; the other stages of the work cycle are executed hydraulically via a circuit equipped with accumulators, the recharge of which is managed by sophisticated software that optimises consumption levels, comparable to those achieved on full electric machines.
Guangzhou, then, looks set to be another occasion for Sacmi to present current and potential customers with the latest innovations to be added to its extensive product range. More than that, though, it’s also a chance to highlight, once again, the important synergies between the various Divisions and companies of the Sacmi Group, which make it the leading solutions provider to the international plastic industry.
