Sacmi presents the most competitive compression press for single-piece caps

Designed and developed for the single-piece cap market, the CCM48S offers the most competitive solution for the production of mineral water, hot filling and CAF (cold aseptic filling) caps.

Built by the Sacmi Imola Closures & Containers Division, the CCM48S makes 1,200 plastic caps per minute with just 48 moulds.

Sacmi, the world-leading makers of complete lines for the production of plastic caps, will be displaying its technological gem - the pinnacle of a press series that is winning customer approval all over the world - at stand HALL E2 # E2B51 at Chinaplas 2010, to be held in Shanghai from 19th to 22nd April 2010.

The CCM48S will feature a mould ideal for the production of S30-14-type single-piece HDPE (high density polyethylene) caps with a diameter of 30 mm, weighing just 1.9 grams. Also an opportunity, then, for the Division to show off the more general competitive advantages that compression technology offers beverage plastic cap manufacturers: advantages that are enhanced further when the machines in question are SACMI CCM (continuous compression moulding) units, all characterised by low consumption, reduced cycle times, low maintenance costs and outstanding flexibility of control, especially as regards extremely short colour changeover times and excellent repeatability of production processes.

Then, of course, there is the extreme practicality of using such compact machines and the possibility of integrating them with others such as the innovative CVS in-line quality control vision system. In recent years Sacmi has played a decisive role in developing cap production technology and leads the world in the development of new solutions characterised by high productivity and reduced energy consumption. Solutions, then, that can provide customers with the tools they need to take a more competitive market stance, especially in emerging nations like China where the fierceness of competition is matched only by the enormous potential of a continuously expanding market.

Chinaplas 2010 is thus a not-to-be-missed event for the Group. In addition to the innovative CCM48S the fair will also be attended by the Sacmi Closures&Containers, Sacmi Automation & Inspection Systems, Sacmi Shanghai and Negri Bossi sales teams.

Sacmi Automation & Inspection Systems will be presenting several quality control solutions, the most important being the Surveyor 900, a laboratory X-ray inspection machine that allows plastic bottle cap manufacturers and/or designers to check, using non-destructive non-intrusive analysis, for correct cap matching, performance and seal.

For its part Negri Bossi will be showing visitors the potential of its machines, highlighting the fact that it has - as a Sacmi Group company and one of Europe’s leading designers and builders of thermoplastic processing machines - decided to focus on Chinaplas (Hall E2 stand E2B41) secure in the knowledge that its comprehensive range of integrated moulding and post-processing solutions is the best available.
