Surveyor 900 keeps on evolving

Latest X-ray machine features presented. Precision container radiography for the design and quality control stages.

Three years after the project has been started, the latest technical developments on the Sacmi-made Surveyor 900 were presented at the Milan-based Ipack-Ima fair.
The laboratory X-ray machine, which was originally developed for R&D purposes, has been upgraded and applied for the industry. The machines has been installed at two long-standing customers of the Group’s Closures Division; a packaging producer in the USA and San Benedetto in Italy.
The Surveyor 900 allow users to carry out fast, effective and non-destructive geometrical analysis of a container, regardless of the shape or the material (glass, plastic, etc.). Inspection is carried out during routine working conditions.
X-ray assessment of the internal cross-section of the container gives precise information on cap-container coupling, thus illustrating the actual working conditions and highlighting any defects. For product designers and quality control personnel alike, this information offers support that is nothing less than essential.
