Christmas 2017, practical action to safeguard the dignity of the needy

Practical moves to support the global community and provide everyone with the best possible access to education, health, food and mobility. For Sacmi, the true spirit of the Christmas holidays is best expressed not with fleeting gifts but through concrete action to support the underprivileged.

So, alongside ongoing projects - which have seen the company working with educational, health and charitable institutions both locally and in foreign countries where the Group operates - Sacmi has chosen to dedicate Christmas 2017 to two small yet significant community support programmes in Imola. The first focuses on people with motor disabilities and involves the donation of precious mobility support to the Imola Red Cross. This project is part of a broader policy that sees Sacmi supporting the rights of people to health care every day, not just in our home town but also, and above all, where social conditions do not even allow access to the most basic care.

Moreover, the last few days have seen the launch of a new solidarity project, with Sacmi joining the non-profit "No Waste" campaign for the ongoing retrieval of cooked food and its distribution to the needy. Since 2016, in fact, the non-profit organisation has been working alongside Camst (a provider of canteen services). Given the success of the first phase of the project, the latter has now decided to raise the number of collection points in Imola from one to four and Sacmi has placed its own canteen at their disposal free of charge. Furthermore, as Christmas draws closer Sacmi has also taken the opportunity to renew its appeal to customers and partners to take a similar approach to Christmas, inviting them to renew their commitment, through practical action, to health, well-being and dignity for all.
