1/20/2010 Nuova Fima: back in business as from today A new industrial plan aims to make the firm operational immediately on both the production and after-sales assistance fronts. Good news for the workers. Excellent news for the Fiorano Modenese area, hit hard by the repercussions of the financial crisis even before more tangible production and market difficulties appeared. The core business remains unchanged: sorting and palletizing lines – in which Nuova Fima led internationally – and vision systems by Surface Inspection, the undisputed world leader in automatic tile inspection systems that was taken over by Nuova Fima back in 2005.
As of today it won’t just be a matter of production. Nuova Fima’s goal, in fact, is to make the spare parts service and, more generally, after-sales assistance, operational immediately. This is part of a policy to restore it, as quickly as possible, as the industry’s reference point for sorting lines and vision systems.
By taking over part of the Fiorano-based company and saving it from the prospect of closure, Sacmi has not just secured jobs for many of Nuova Fima’s workers: in doing so it has also reinforced and completed its product range, creating an end-of-line group that provides a diversified, integrated, efficient response to the all customer needs.
Nuova Fima sorting lines and Surface Inspection vision systems will be integrated with the Sacmi Automation range, with mosaic and trim manufacturing systems by Kemac and products made by Sima, a specialist in product handling and storage systems and also, for some time now, a key player in the production of automatic laser-guided. |
