The design and construction of furnace
plants for carbon products is one of the core competences of RIEDHAMMER. More
than 85 years of experience and know-how guarantee a high economic efficiency
and reliability of the plants. Since 1924 the Carbon Division of RIEDHAMMER executed almost 300 projects
(including 165 new furnaces as well as several revamping projects,
modernizations and conversions) of baking furnaces for anodes, cathodes and
electrodes in 25 countries. The furnaces are built in accordance with the
individual customers’ requests and the corresponding technical conditions. The
company’s own R&D centre permits the design of furnace types featured by
high baking capacities and outstanding product quality. Our reference list includes major global players in the production of primary aluminium with
pre-baked technology and top suppliers of electrodes for the steel industry. At the the beginning of 2004 the Italian SACMI Group
acquired 90% of the RIEDHAMMER shares (subsequently increased to 95%). One
essential consequence of this association was the development of important
synergies between both companies. This increased our technical potentials and
strengthened the financial back up.
