PAM (Preform Advanced Moulding) production of compression preforms.

PAM (Preform Advanced Moulding) production of compression preforms.

An exclusive SACMI system

The strongpoint of PAM technology is, compared to the traditional injection technique, reduced energy consumption, achieved thanks to the PET extrusion process, which takes place at a lower temperature.

Less consumption of raw materials, more flexibility and quality

The exclusive SACMI system for the production of compression preforms is integrated upstream of the blow moulder. The advantages of the process include reduced consumption of raw materials and energy, higher quality and more flexibility in the use of high viscosity PET.

1

COST SAVING

  • Preform is lighter as no gate is there
  • Possible perform weight reduction
  • Less energy consumption
2

QUALITY BENEFITS

  • Less scrapes
  • No black strokes
  • Color streaks
3

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANTAGES

  • Lower IV drop
  • Lower acetaldehyde
  • Use of high viscosity materials
4

WEIGHT CONSISTANCY

  • Lower plastic consumption
  • More regular product
5

HIGHER PRODUCTIVITY

Thanks to a lower cycle time due to:

  • Stand alone cooling of each mold
  • More specific and effective cooling
  • Lower temperature (≥ 20°C)
  • Dead time reduction
6

PROCESS BENEFITS

  • No hot chamber
  • The product is singularly run FIFO
  • Process continuity

The inherent advantages of SACMI compression

The strength of PAM technology, compared to the traditional injection technique, is the reduced energy consumption, which is obtained thanks to the PET extrusion process that takes place at a lower temperature. The increase in productivity - which in the 48-cavity model can reach 27,000 preforms per hour - is accompanied by a considerable increase in product performance, since PET bottles obtained from compression preforms are characterised by a more homogeneous distribution of the material and therefore by better quality, for the same weight.
