Monno Ceramic Industries grows on the high-end tableware market with Riedhammer

New latest-generation Riedhammer porcelain glost firing kiln up and running at the Dhaka site. Higher quality, lower consumption and an output capacity of over 5,600 tons of porcelain tableware per year. The customer’s goal: to further strengthen its positioning and prestige as a leading brand owner in the sector

Founded in 1984 by industrialist and philanthropist Harunar Rashid Khan Monno, Monno Ceramic Industries designs, develops and markets bone china and porcelain tableware for the world's leading brands.
Production is substantially export-oriented. This explains why Dhaka (Bangladesh) has chosen to employ state-of-the-art technology, especially as regards firing, crucial for achieving high quality tableware items with outstanding aesthetics. Hence Monno’s recent purchase of a new kiln - supplied by Riedhammer, a SACMI Group company - designed to glost fire porcelain products in a reducing atmosphere.
Successfully delivered and started up at the Dhaka facility, this kiln offers all the advantages of latest-generation Riedhammer machines. For example, it features advanced control of all firing parameters (air-gas mixtures) and devices that limit and optimize energy consumption.
Once fully operational, the new kiln - 56 meters long, with an effective width of 2.1 m and 0.6 meters high - will let Monno Ceramic fire 5,600 tons of porcelain tableware per year.
Excellent product quality, stability and repeatability, and good flexibility to handle changes in load conditions are the kiln's hallmarks; this Monno Ceramic Industries purchase is part of a wider modernization plan that, in this case, aims to replace some older tunnel kilns. Given the improved kiln efficiency and integration with heat recovery systems, this investment decision was also driven by environmental sustainability goals.
For the customer - who, in addition to the Dhaka facility, has a prestigious design studio in the heart of London - this purchase boosts its market credentials by strengthening its mission: to develop new collections that incorporate cutting-edge concepts of aesthetics, product quality and sustainability.
