It is a special anniversary this year for Alpha Ceramics, the modern research centre and part of the Team by SACMI venture where the main technological innovations for the refractory and technical ceramics industry have originated in recent years. Already a “competence centre” for Laeis, the German market leader in the sector and part of the SACMI Group since 2003, Alpha Ceramics has progressively extended its role over the years and is now considered a full partner in all aspects in the development of technologies for the refractory and high-performance special ceramics fields.
Body preparation and moulds, moulding, thermal treatments, various components for the production of small-sized special ceramics. These, among many other activities, are carried out at Alpha Ceramics which is creating its own future as a specialist “test centre” serving the main suppliers in this industry. Of particular interest to customers is the possibility to test their products and prototypes at Alpha’s laboratories in Aachen before proceeding with industrialization, benefitting also from the various opportunities and synergies available thanks to the alliance with Team By SACMI, a reference point in Europe for the technical ceramics sector.
Since becoming part of the SACMI world, Alpha Ceramics has in fact developed and extended its strategic direction over the years acquiring a new status as point-of-reference for its products which are used in a wide variety of industrial fields. This result has been achieved thanks to intense research activity with the aim of innovating pressing and traditional firing technologies to improve efficiency, cost control and performance.
