Cutting-edge SACMI technology takes on the Chinese market

SACMI is redoubling its efforts in China, a strategic market for the very best European tile-making technology, with a two-event plan intended to intercept the specific needs of a market that is both highly competitive and ever-more focused on quality and the challenges posed by Industry 4.0.

A long-standing participant at Ceramics China, the country's biggest international fair, set to take place in Guangzhou from 18 to 21 June 2019, SACMI has decided to extend its participation to the Cicee (China International Ceramics Equipment and Materials Exhibition) fair, to be held from 30 May to 2 June in Foshan (Guangdong), not far from SACMI's main facility in the country, which acts as a production, spare parts and assistance hub.

A long-standing provider to the Chinese market, SACMI has, in fact, succeeded in combining a range characterised by state-of-the-art tile-making technology with a capacity to design area-specific solutions, largely thanks to the presence of the SACMI Foshan Nanhai manufacturing facility. More specifically, Cicee will showcase the SACMI DCC, a press filler box packed with Italian technology, designed to work in concert with the PHC press range. Now renewed and bristling with 4.0 Smart solutions, these presses can manufacture sizes ranging from a traditional 60x60 to a larger 100x100 cm. Also on display will be the new SACMI Intesa DHD module, designed to act as a true '3D digital portal' thanks to its capacity to integrate - via shared software - with all SACMI ink, glaze and material-applying decoration solutions. Indeed, digital machines are selling well in China, a clear indicator of SACMI and INTESA's renewed commitment to providing the vital Chinese market with a suitable digital response.

Then, at Ceramics China, SACMI will raise the bar yet again by exhibiting (for the first time in China) the PCR compactor, the heart of CONTINUA+ technology. SACMI's Continua+ large slab manufacturing line has revolutionised the very concept of tile manufacturing by extending the size and thickness range and ensuring seamless integration with all cutting, decoration and inspection solutions. Downstream from the compactor, the line displayed at the fair will be equipped with the TPV mobile cutting module and the SACMI DHD digital decoration module. Also on show will be a Flawmaster, the world-leading SACMI solution that ensures total quality control on ceramic production lines.

The outcome: a true ceramic manufacturing 'eco-system' with integrated 4.0 monitoring and diagnostics systems, which SACMI also extends to traditional pressing via the latest-generation PH Smart press range (which includes the powerful PH 16000). SACMI 4.0 - a topic concerning high-end solutions spanning from Continua+ to integration with automatic warehouses and line supervisors - will play a pivotal role, especially in the numerous demonstrations on SACMI's Ceramics China stand, during which visitors will have a great opportunity to see the Continua+ and supervisor in action. SACMI will be on hand at the end of each presentation to provide visitors with further, more in-depth information.

Alongside solutions and innovations for Tiles, both fairs will also see the active participation of the SACMI Sanitaryware & Tableware team. SACMI Imola, Sama and Riedhammer will illustrate the latest developments on the sanitaryware and tableware modelling, casting, glazing and firing fronts. Again, there will be a strong focus on total automation of the various phases, optimisation of energy consumption an 4.0 control of the entire process.
