Ceramic Expo Bangladesh doubles its capacity, with SACMI playing a leading role

Excellent results from the Bengali fair which closed on 7th December. The SACMI Group's strategy in this area is being driven by outstanding market dynamism and strong positioning in tiles, sanitaryware and tableware.

A population of almost 180 million and an average annual growth of 6.5% since 2004, expected to jump to over 8% in 2020: a few figures that say a lot about Bangladesh, where SACMI has just closed its hugely successful stand at the second edition of Ceramic Expo, the country's number one fair for ceramic, sanitaryware and tableware technology, products and raw materials.

Since the previous edition two years ago, Ceramic Expo Bangladesh has doubled its display area to produce a first-class event: and SACMI was there to take advantage of the extraordinary dynamism of a market that, while close to India, has its own distinctive characteristics. First and foremost, these include a growing demand, on the part of top local players, for latest-generation technological solutions that will strengthen an internal market ever-more attentive to quality.

Intercepting changing consumption patterns with the right investment at the right time is essential to the country's leading producers, and SACMI - as the world's leading supplier to the ceramic industry - is there to help them do just that. Alongside tiles, SACMI is also a much-appreciated provider of tableware and sanitaryware solutions to the country's local producers.

The huge success enjoyed at Ceramic Expo - high attendance, lots of visitors to the stand and several new contracts - will soon see SACMI bolster its in-country operations as part of a further strengthening of the Group's Global Network in the strategic South Eastern Asia area.
