Gaiotto presents the latest release of the GA-OL robot at Paint Expo 2016

With over 480 exhibitors from 26 countries, the two-yearly Paint Expo (Karlsruhe, Germany, 19-22 April 2016) has confirmed itself as the leading international fair for the coating industry. This, then, makes it a strategic event for Gaiotto - the Sacmi Group company that leads the field in the design of highly automated glazing and coating systems – which took advantage of the occasion to present the latest evolution of the GA-OL robot, developed in compliance with the ATEX standard dedicated to offline programming.

Sacmi-Gaiotto integrated glazing centres are equipped with multi-programme robots that allow for easy programming of coating trajectories and parameters. The new offline programming release allows fast optimisation of trajectories and paint flow at the nozzle; this minimises the paint wastage that stems from excess glaze deposit in some areas of the piece and from overspray.

Advanced Gaiotto-developed software allows - beginning with digitalization of the piece being coated – the user to create the glazing programme on the PC by modelling spray-gun trajectories and setting all the spray parameters. Once completed, the programme can be simulated and optimised without having to intervene directly on the line.

This latest Gaiotto solution was presented and exhibited on the Gaiotto stand at what proved to be the biggest and most successful edition of the fair ever (no less than 142,000 m2 of exhibition space and over 9,000 industry professionals). Key features on this innovative release include optimised algorithms to simulate spray trajectories and parameters and the ability to manage multiple coating robots in parallel; moreover, the user interface has been redesigned according to ergonomic criteria to ensure maximum user-friendliness and operator autonomy.
