The DDD175 and DDD075 digital decoration systems have been expressly developed by SACMI for the controlled application of powders on ceramic bodies.
Based on SACMI-patented technology, the decoration units allow several different types of ceramic powder to be applied without any particular limits on particle size distribution, moisture content or colour.
The characteristic flexibility of digital systems has thus been combined with the freedom offered by the industry’s traditional raw materials.
The system consists of a series of independent decoration units, one per colour, installed in sequence along a conveyor belt. By properly coordinating the data (made available by graphics control software) on the various units it is possible to apply the desired decoration on the material as it is fed down the line.
Installation of the device in a ceramics plant is easy; more specifically, it is particularly suitable for surface application above a layer of base powder on a CONTINUA line or on the pre-compacted material of a TWINPRESS line.
The system is designed so that the ‘selected’ powders for discharge onto the tile do not need to pass through small orifices, thus ensuring enormous reliability and repeatability of performance.
The system managing the various discharge "elements" is not of the ON/OFF type but, rather, modulates the discharge impulse so that the user can control the quantity of powder batched as desired.
