Kemac gets a boost from Sacmi Forni

Stop press: as of this moment Kemac is no longer just a company in itself but a brand that is reliant on the Sacmi Forni product lines and takes, as far as the sales network is concerned, the Sacmi Imola sales organisation as its point of reference. This latest development was revealed by Claudio Marani, General Manager of the Sacmi Imola Ceramics&Tiles Division.

“A year ago”, explains Marani, “ we had already physically transferred Kemac’s activities from the Sacmi Impianti production facility at Fiorano (Mo) to the Sacmi Forni facility at Salvaterra di Casalgrande (Re). A decision based on logistical needs and an integral part of the reorganisation of Group activities in the Sassuolo area, which made Sacmi Impianti move into the renewed and enriched of news industrial activities Molds&Dies building “. And that’s not all: “Over these years”, points out Marani, “we’ve witnessed sweeping changes, from an economic standpoint, in Kemac’s core business - the third fire and trims fields”. In short, shrinking interest in the third fire sector at international level is due to the wide-spread minimalism in the design of furniture new ranges.

“The growing need for closer integration within the Group” - continues Marani - has led to the effective incorporation of all of Kemac’s activities in Sacmi Forni and Sacmi Impianti”. Not just logistical integration, then, but an effective “merger” in which commercial operations – offers and sales – will be integrated in Sacmi Impianti and coordinated by the Imola management, while more strictly industrial activities will be followed by Sacmi Forni. “This will”, notes Marani, “enhance synergies, in that Sacmi Forni already operates in the Kemac business areas of firing and automation. Unification of production operations will allow us to maintain a market-recognised brand and optimise industrial costs, while, at the same time, generating service synergies with regard to personnel, logistics and purchasing thanks to the far-reaching Sacmi Imola commercial network”.

Third fire, mosaic and trims will continue to be the business of Kemac - a long-standing world-renowned brand already the property of Sacmi - for a long time to come. The “merger” came into effect as of 1st December.
