Fispal 2022, SACMI's roadmap to the future of Rigid Packaging Technologies

For the 36th edition of the trade fair SACMI's Rigid Packaging Technologies business is in the spotlight. The technological solution proposed have increasingly evolved and are oriented towards advanced controls, sustainability, but also new multi-line and multi-material solutions.

After a 2020 “virtual” edition, the Fispal international trade fair returns in-person from 21 to 24 June 2022 at the Sao Paulo Expo, Brazil. At the SACMI exhibition space (stand F028) all the technological innovations are on show in the Rigid Packaging field in terms of sustainability, advanced controls, new standards, products and formats.
Crown caps, aluminium caps and multi-component caps. More than 95% of the world's crown caps are produced on SACMI machines. Today, the SACMI PTC range of presses, which has been further refined and enhanced, is the global technological reference in this field.
The growing attention of the market to the world of metal has led SACMI to make heavy and parallel investment in the development of complete lines for aluminium and multi-component caps.
These include a complete line for the production of Ring-Pull caps that combines the new PTS001 press with SACMI's consolidated solutions for the application of gaskets (PVC-free) as well as the practical ring with tab. The result is a modern, high-performance capsule that guarantees a pleasant consumption experience. Furthermore, it is also a potential advantage in terms of anti-counterfeiting.
Further opportunities recently developed by SACMI include the new line for the production of ROPP caps and the standard MASC (Multicomponent Aluminium SACMI Caps). Additionally, a very high level of safety and practicality is provided by the latter solution, which is once again integrated into a complete line.

Advanced controls (CCM 4.0) and new closure standards
With over 2,000 solutions sold worldwide in 91 countries - over 300 in Brazil - SACMI is the world leader in the production of one-piece caps using compression technology. High productivity and low energy and raw material consumption are the hallmarks of this technology, which SACMI will be further developing in 2021 with the introduction of advanced sensors and new 4.0 controls.

With over 1,000 capsule designs developed for customers worldwide, SACMI stands out in the development of integrated neck-capsule solutions, thanks to the advanced skills and instrumentation available in its Laboratory. Also this year, SACMI has been working on the development of new standards both in the direction of lightweight solutions - for example the new 26 mm caps for CSD and water - and with dedicated solutions to facilitate customers determined to invest in the new tethered standard.

New IPS 300, towards total quality control in preforms production
With the launch of the IPS 300 injection moulding machine, SACMI is offering the first solution to be introduced on the market that integrates the vision system directly into the press for in-line production control. Just one of the advantages of the machine that, in the narrow circle of the market best performing solutions, SACMI has designed to guarantee ease of use, high productivity, quality and process repeatability.
Like the successful IPS 400, the IPS 300 was developed with total versatility in mind, with interchangeability of moulds, even with those produced by third parties. All standard solutions are also designed to accommodate high percentages (even exceeding 50%) of recycled PET in the form of flakes and up to 100% of granular rPET.
Post processing r-evolution
SACMI integrates safety strip cutting and bending machines (SACMI SFM) into its complete cap manufacturing lines. This out-of-mould cutting solution is simpler, more effective and more flexible than the solutions proposed by competitors.
This production trend greatly facilitates switching to the new tethered standard, and this is confirmed by the growing presence of this type of cap in the European tethered landscape.

CBF, the plastic containers green challenge
The sustainability challenge also remains a key issue in the container field. This is thanks to CBF (compression blow forming) system: an innovative single-stage process that allows higher accuracy in managing container thickness, flexibility in the use of different raw materials (HDPE, PET) and generally lower energy consumption than alternative solutions.

SACMI do Brasil, your local partner since 1969
As early as 1969 SACMI opened a sales subsidiary in Brazil, one of the first in the world in a country that has always been strategic for the Group's development prospects. Today, at the SACMI do Brasil headquarters, a staff of highly qualified technicians and personnel guarantees constant assistance to customers, also in synergy with the new services of remote assistance services offered by the parent company.  (if we know how many are at SACMI do Brasil, please mention it)
We look forward to seeing you at Fispal 2022 (stand F038, Sao Paulo Expo, 21-24 June 2022)!
